**NEW FOR THE 2009-2010 SCHOOL YEAR: SUBSIDIES**

Funding from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund is helping to bring down the cost of attending teacher workshops!

  • All teachers who register for topical and “Northern Lights” workshops will pay a discounted registration fee of $50.00.
  • Subsidies are also available for mileage and substitute teacher reimbursements on a first-come, first-served basis. The following assistance will be provided to a limited number of teachers for each workshop:
    • Substitute teacher reimbursement up to $100.00 (paid directly to the school district)
    • Mileage reimbursement for those travelling over 50 miles roundtrip
    • Hotel reimbursement up to $100.00 for those travelling over 200 miles round trip

These subsidies are meant to assist teachers who have no access to other professional development funding. Please only apply for them if you are otherwise unable to attend the workshop. Teachers may register for as many workshops as they wish to attend, but can only receive subsidies for one workshop during the 2009-2010 school year. No more than two teachers from a given school can apply for subsidies for the same workshop.

A confirmation email containing subsidy application instructions will be sent to all registrants once their online registration has been processed. MHS Teacher Education staff will then be in touch with those eligible for subsidies in order to complete the process.

If you have questions regarding the partial-subsidization of teacher workshops, please contact Ali Kappes at 651-259-3426 or alissa.kappes@mnhs.org.
