A documentary portrait of the legendary Lakota historical figure.

Sitting Bull was one of the last great chiefs of the Lakota Sioux. He was a visionary, philosopher, spiritual leader, medicine man, humanist and peacemaker. This documentary portrait is in great part taken from Sitting Bull's own words translated from Lakota by his contemporaries. Over six-hundred photographs gathered from numerous archival institutions and years of extensive historical research bring his story to life from his early years, and through the sad and tragic destruction of his people's way of life.

Words of Sitting Bull performed by Adam Fortunate Eagle, narrated by William Theobald. Music by Steve Henry, Cory Orosco, and the Wild Horse Singers. Historical advisors Robert M. Utley and Donald L. Fixico. Co-written & co-produced by Grace De Soto Ferry.
