Detailed, poseable, action figurines dressed in uniforms of World War II, when, inspired by the First Lady and motivated by strong feelings of patriotic duty, women of all ages endeavored to help their nation in the war effort.

Initially, these were seen as hardships for desperate times, but an unexpected side effect came in a new found sense of capability and of new possibilities outside her traditional roles.

Known as "Rosie the Riveter", women worked in munitions plants, aircraft assembly lines and in the shipyards to create the weapons of war. Women actively served the military forces through the U.S. Coast Guard Women's Reserve (SPARs), as Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (WAACs), as Women's Air Raid Defense (WARDs), as Women's Air Force Service Pilots (WASPs), as Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVES), and in the Army and Navy Nurse Corps. They also served as reporters, spies, Red Cross volunteers and clerical workers.

At home women conserved upon and reused household goods, wore altered fashions to conserve fabric and planted "victory gardens". They sent "v-mail" to their fathers, brothers, and sweethearts and assisted the USO to help boost morale. No effort was too great or too small and no challenge was left unanswered. The undeniable strength and willingness to do their part earned these women our nation's gratitude and the admiration of generations to come.
