The third of four books on the 1930s strikes, organizing drives, and political campaigns of the Teamsters union in Minnesota and the Midwest. Written by a leader of the communist movement in the U.S. and organizer of the Teamsters union during the rise of the CIO.

Teamster Politics tells about the efforts of rank-and-file Teamsters to fight against antiunion forces and to advance independent labor political action and jobs for all.

Farrell Dobbs emerged from the ranks as a Teamster leader during the historic 1934 Minneapolis strikes. He resigned his post as general organizer on the Teamsters national staff in 1940 to become the labor secretary of the Socialist Workers Party. National secretary of the SWP from 1953 to 1972, he was the party's presidential candidate four times.
