About the Frames

We offer two choices of museum–quality frames: A contemporary one–inch wood frame with a black matte finish, or a slightly wider traditional walnut frame with an ebony finish. Framing is done by Nash Frame Design, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. If you prefer to select your own frame, request a discount coupon for framing when you order your print. We use 100% acid–free conservation mat board for both the 8–ply window mats, which have four–inch margins, and the back mats. Shatterproof acrylic is used for glazing, and the back is sealed to keep out dirt. The frames come with hardware and wires and are ready to hang. The framed size of an 11” x 14” photograph is 21” x 24”, and the framed size of a 16” x 20” photograph is 26” x 30”.

Each print, framed or unframed, is carefully packaged for shipping. Information on archival matting and framing from the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works is included with each photograph, along with a statement documenting the photographic process
