About the Photographic Process
These black and white photographs are gelatin-silver prints, hand–processed to the highest standards in the photo lab of the Minnesota Historical Society. The prints are made with fiber–base photographic paper (Ilford MultigradeWarmtone double weight semi–matte) and are hand–processed, washed, and air–dried following strict archival guidelines.
Each print, framed or unframed, is carefully packaged for shipping. Information on archival matting and framing from the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works is included with each photograph, along with a statement documenting the photographic process.
Each photograph includes an extended historical caption, documentation of the photographic process, and information on how to frame the photos to last a lifetime. Each photograph will be discreetly stamped “Minnesota Historical Society” on the back in archival quality ink. Matting and framing services are available for an added charge.
