Trade Silver Small Circle Brooch
Hand-crafted sterling silver replica of a type of brooch commonly worn and traded in the fur trade era.
Silver brooches in many sizes and designs were a common trade item in the Great Lakes area from the mid 1700's into the mid 1800's, worn by the Native Americans and Voyageurs for decoration, status, and a way to carry their wealth. This is a reproduction of an original piece of trade silver, made from sterling silver with the same tools and techniques as were used to create the originals.
Leopold Lisovskis (1947-2019) was a historic silversmith in rural Wisconsin for over 35 years.
Each piece is unique; averaging 7/8 inch in diameter.
