Lake Superior International Highway Poster
Buses and cars, a relatively new mode of transportation, traveled the highways carrying passengers to areas of the country that were previously difficult to reach. To encourage tourists to visit their points of interest, states produced travel brochures extolling the virtues of their attractions. This poster is a copy of the cover of the 1926 North Shore Tourist Brochure.
The famous scenic Highway 61 North Shore Drive is depicted with a touring bus, elegant cars, ships on the lake, and the world-famous Lake Superior landmark, Split Rock Lighthouse. A rich, dark green border completes the look.
