Trade Silver Kissing Otters Pendant
Hand-crafted sterling silver replica of a type of pendant commonly worn and traded in the fur trade era.
Silver pendants in many sizes and designs were a common trade item in the Great Lakes area from the mid 1700's into the mid 1800's, worn by the Native Americans and Voyageurs for decoration, status, and a way to carry their wealth. This is a reproduction of an original piece of trade silver, made from sterling silver with the same tools and techniques as were used to create the originals. Leopold Lisovskis has been a historic silversmith for over 35 years and lives in an 1850's log cabin in rural Wisconsin.
Each piece is unique; averaging 1 x 2 in size.
