Hill was one of the titanic figures of America's turbulent Gilded Age - a man whose railroad empire transformed the Northwest and became the backbone for American settlement, agricultural development and commercial expansion. James J. Hille, Empire Builder tells the story of the young Canadian who arrived in St. Paul in 1856 and went on to build the Great Northern Railway, one of the most successful transportation networks in railroad history. 30 minutes.

Also included is the 10 minute version of James J. Hill, Empire Builder used on tours at the James J. Hill House in St. Paul, Minnesota, plus additional excerpts from the interviews, offering further perspectives into James J. Hill's life and times.
