“The Day You Were Born” Newspaper Request

For this service, Library staff will search for one newspaper for the location and date of your choosing. When available we will send a copy of:

• the front page
• a local news page
• a sports page
• 1 to 4 pages of culture/lifestyle content (advertisements, movie ads, fashion, etc.)

$5.00 Scanning and digital delivery via email are included in the price
$10.00 additional for paper prints (printed on 11”x17” high1quality paper) delivered via USPS*

Turnaround: Research is usually completed and sent within 60 business days. There is no RUSH service available for this request.

About This Research Service: This service makes a great birthday or anniversary gift for history lovers!

• For cities with more than one newspaper, staff will send copies from only one of them
• Staff will search one newspaper in or closest to the location specified.
• Because many newspapers are weekly, orders for locations with weekly papers will not be on the exact date specified.
• If you want to ensure that your items are from the exact date, please select a city with a major daily newspaper. Recommendations include: Minneapolis, St. Paul, Duluth, Rochester, St. Cloud, and Mankato.

*The additional cost covers printing newspaper pages onto high quality 11”x17” paper and shipping in a mailing tube via First-Class Mail (delivery time: 2-5 business days after the order has been completed by staff).
