Collection: See & Be Seen

The Minnesota Historical Society Press proudly publishes books that portray notable figures, places, and experiences of the Upper Midwest. Like the portraits in the Minnesota History Center’s See & Be Seen exhibit, our books offer many viewpoints, perspectives, and enduring images of the region and beyond. Whether it is the memoirs of groundbreaking filmmaker Gordon Parks or prominent artist Wing Young Huie, or collected photographs of Prince’s early career or the many musicians who have performed at First Avenue, MNHS Press titles show us moments that are consequential or confidential, indelible or fleeting–inviting the viewer to look both outward and inward.
